This project documents a semester-long exploration in the Klanglabor — a hands-on deep dive into the world of analog synthesis and its visual translation.

Patching with Purpose
Over the course of the semester, our team had the rare opportunity to work with an analog synthesizer by Dieter Döpfer — a significant figure in the world of modular synthesis. The goal was to develop a deep, intuitive understanding of how sound is generated, shaped, and modulated in real time through physical patching and analog components.
03 — Editorial Design & Documentation
When Sound Becomes Print
To present the results of our sonic experiments in a tangible and expressive way, we chose a printed magazine as the final documentation format. This allowed us to tell the auditory story visually — exploring editorial design as a complementary discipline. The magazine was fully conceived, designed, and produced by Andreas Outos — including all photography, copy, layouts, and typesetting. The result is a considered piece that reflects both the technical depth of the project and the aesthetic experience of working in the Klanglabor.
